Rewrite text

Grazie helps you rewrite text fragments, sentences, and paragraphs and find synonyms. It also lets you adjust the tone of your text or focus on specific improvements, such as simplifying or improving its readability.

It is a creative tool to generate alternative ideas, like a simple brainstorming companion. It is also a great way to learn, as Grazie often suggests text with a more conventional style.

The following actions are available within the context of text rewriting:

Action	Description
Improve	Generates a refined version of the text based on the specified option. Use this to enhance the clarity, conciseness, and readability of your text and elaborate on its main idea.
Change tone	Generates a new text version in the specified tone. Use this to adapt the tone to suit a specific audience or purpose.
Rewrite	Generates alternative text without significantly changing the tone and length. For a word or short phrase, Grazie suggests several synonyms. Use this to change the phrasing, reword your text, and remove inconsistency.

Rephrasing and finding synonyms

The Rewrite action rephrases a selected text to create its alternative version. Depending on the size of the text, Grazie either generates a new version of the text or suggests synonyms.

To rewrite a text:

Highlight a phrase, sentence, paragraph, or long text for which you want to generate an alternative version.
Click the Grazie icon that appears and select the Rewrite option in the text selection menu.
To cancel the process, click the Dismiss button in the dialog that appears or press Esc.
In the Rewrite dialog, choose one of the following options:
- Click the Replace button or press Enter to replace the highlighted text with the generated alternative.
- Click the Paste after button or press Shift+Enter to insert the generated alternative after the highlighted text.

The following options are also available in the Rewrite dialog with the generated text:

Option	Description
Refresh	Click the Refresh icon to regenerate the text. All the previously generated variants remain available. To cancel the process, click the Stop button or press `Esc` in the dialog.
Previous and next version	Click the Previous and Next icons to switch between the generated variants. The option may not be available the first time Grazie rewrites the text.
Like and dislike	Click the Like or Dislike icon to share your reaction to the generated text.
Close	Click the Close icon to close the dialog. Alternatively, click outside the dialog or press `Esc` to close it.

To find synonyms:

Highlight a word or short phrase no longer than three words.
Click the Grazie icon that appears and select the Rewrite option in the text selection menu.
In the Rewrite dialog, click the appropriate synonym to replace the highlighted text.

The following options are also available in the Rewrite dialog with the suggested synonyms:

Option	Description
Show more	Click the Show more button to generate more synonyms.
Like and dislike	Click the Like or Dislike icons to share your reaction to the generated synonyms.
Close	Click the Close icon to close the dialog. Alternatively, click outside the dialog or press `Esc` to close it.

Improving your writing

The Improve option provides you with the flexibility to choose a specific improvement to apply when rewriting a text.

To improve a text:

Highlight a phrase, sentence, paragraph, or long text for which you want to generate an improved version.
Click the Grazie icon that appears.
Move the pointer to the Improve option in the text selection menu and choose the desired improvement.
To cancel the process, click the Dismiss button in the dialog that appears or press Esc.
In the Improve dialog, choose one of the following:
- Click the Replace button or press Enter to replace the highlighted text with the improved version.
- Click the Paste after button or press Shift+Enter to insert the improved text after the highlighted text.

The following options are also available in the Improve dialog:

Option	Description

Changing tone

The Change tone option lets you adjust the tone of a text to adapt it to the needs of a specific audience or context. For example, you can change a formal message into a friendly one or make it more inclusive.

To change the tone of a text:

Highlight a phrase, sentence, paragraph, or long text for which you want to change the tone.
Click the Grazie icon that appears.
Move the pointer to the Change tone option in the text selection menu and choose the desired tone.
To cancel the process, click the Dismiss button in the dialog that appears or press Esc.
In the Change tone dialog, choose one of the following:
- Click the Replace button or press Enter to replace the highlighted text with the generated alternative.
- Click the Paste after button or press Shift+Enter to insert the generated text after the highlighted text.

The following options are also available in the Change tone dialog:
