# Set top-up limits for users

> **Note:**
> Managing top-up AI Credits on the Users and licensing page  requires the [Manage AI access](roles.html#permissions_manage_ai_access) or [Manage organization](roles.html#permissions_manage_org) permission.
>
> * The following default roles include the [Manage AI access](roles.html#permissions_manage_ai_access) permission: [Org admin](roles.html#org_admin), [AI admin](roles.html#ai_admin).
>
> * The only default role that includes the [Manage organization](roles.html#permissions_manage_org) permission is [Org admin](roles.html#org_admin).

You can set a monthly [top-up AI Credits limit](ai-management.html#top-up-limit) for any user with a [license with AI](ai-management.html#license-with-ai) assigned to them. If the per-user top-up limit is set, it overrides the [default limit](top-up-ai-credits.html#configure_default_monthly_top_up_limit) configured on the [Settings](ai-settings.html) page. You can adjust the limit at any time or restrict access to top-up AI Credits by setting the limit to zero.

> **Note:**
> You can set a top-up AI Credits limit only for users in your organization who have at least one license with AI. If a user doesn't have a license yet, assign one to them first. For details, see [Assign licenses with AI to users](assign-licenses-with-ai-to-users.html).

The top-up AI Credits limit is associated with the license with AI. When you set the limit for the user, it applies to each license with AI you assigned to them, but only after the user first interacts with AI under that license.

You can set the same limit for multiple users at once. This is useful when several users have reached or are close to their [total AI Credits limits](monitor-current-ai-credits-usage.html), and you need to update their limits simultaneously.

If there are no available top-up AI Credits, you can [purchase additional top-up AI Credits](add-top-up-ai-credits.html) for your organization.

Procedure: Set a top-up AI Credits limit

1. Log in to [JetBrains Central Console](https://account.jetbrains.com).

2. In the sidebar, under AI management, select Users and licensing.

If you don't see this page, or the controls on this page are not available, your role doesn't have the necessary [permissions](roles.html#permissions).

3. Search for a user either by scrolling through the list or using the search box at the top of the page. For details, see [Searching for users](ai-users-and-licensing.html#searching-for-users).

4. Click the value in the Top-up limit column.

> **Tip:**
> Alternatively, you can click ![Ellipsis icon](images/union.svg) and select Change top-up limit.

To set the same limit for multiple users, select them using checkboxes in the User column and click Change top-up limit on the toolbar below the table.

5. In the Top-up AI Credits per month field in the popup, enter the number of top-up AI Credits that can be spent each month.

6. Click Save top-up limit.

You can adjust the limit at any time using the same steps.
