# Code-related data collection

> Changing data collection settings  requires the [Manage AI settings](roles.html#permissions_manage_ai_settings) or [Manage organization](roles.html#permissions_manage_org) permission.

> * The following default roles include the [Manage AI settings](roles.html#permissions_manage_ai_settings) permission: [Org admin](roles.html#org_admin), [AI admin](roles.html#ai_admin).
>
> * The only default role that includes the [Manage organization](roles.html#permissions_manage_org) permission is [Org admin](roles.html#org_admin).

JetBrains may collect code-related data from your users only if you and your users allow this. By default, JetBrains tools activated with your organization's license do not share any code-related data, and your users cannot opt in. If you allow data collection, users will be able to enable data sharing in their IDEs.

Procedure: Allow data collection

1. Expand the AI management section and select Settings.

If you don't see this page, or the controls on this page are not available, your role doesn't have the necessary [permissions](roles.html#permissions).

2. In the Collection of Detailed Data card, select Let users decide.

Users in your organization will be able to decide whether to allow data collection in their IDEs.
