# Update Hub

Before you start
: 1.
:
: Back up your current database.
:
:
:
: Hub does not support forward database compatibility. During the update, your database will be migrated to the latest format. Once this happens, you cannot revert to a previous version and continue to use the updated database.
:
:
:
: 2.
:
: Save a copy of the backup in a secure location.
:
:
:
: If the update fails or you need to roll back to the previous version, this backup will allow you to restore your database.

Recommended update path
: > **Warning:**
: > If your current version is more than one release behind, apply updates sequentially. Skipping directly to the latest release can cause migration failures or incomplete updates.

Procedure: Update Hub

Kubernetes deployment:

1.

Update Hub using the following command:

```BASH
helm upgrade -f hub.values.yaml hub datalore/hub --version 0.2.45
```

> **Warning:**
> This command assumes that your Hub configuration file is named `hub.values.yaml`. If your file has a different name, update the command to match.

> **Tip:**
> For a mapping of Helm chart versions to Datalore On-Premises versions, see the [compatibility table](upgrade-datalore-on-premises-helm-installation.html#version-mapping).

2.

Get the Hub output:

```BASH
kubectl logs service/hub
```

3.

From the output, copy the `wizard_token` value. The line with the token looks like this:

```
JetBrains Hub 2025.1 Configuration Wizard will be available on
[http://[host_name]:8082/?wizard_token=<value>] after start
```

4. Copy the `wizard_token` value to the clipboard.

5. Open the Hub page in your browser and insert the `wizard_token` value into the Token field.

6. Click Log in.

7. Click Upgrade and wait for the update to complete.

Docker deployment:

1.

In your Docker Compose configuration file, set the new Hub version as shown in the following example:

```YAML
services:
  ...
  hub:
    image: jetbrains/hub:2026.2.52442
```

> **Note:**
> The Compose configuration file is usually named `compose.yaml` or `docker-compose.yaml`.

> **Tip:**
> For a mapping of Hub versions to Datalore On-Premises versions, see the [compatibility table](upgrade-datalore-on-premises-helm-installation.html#version-mapping).

2.

Stop Datalore and its services:

```BASH
docker compose down
```

3.

Start Hub:

```BASH
docker compose up hub
```

4.

From the Docker output, copy the `wizard_token` value. The line with the token looks like this:

```TEXT
JetBrains Hub 2025.1 Configuration Wizard will be available on
[http://[host_name]:8082/?wizard_token=<value>] after start
```

> **Tip:**
> If you are running Docker Compose in the detached mode, use the `docker compose logs hub` command.

5. Open the Hub page in your browser and paste the `wizard_token` value into the Token field.

6. Click Log in.

7. Click Upgrade and wait for the update to complete.

8.

Start Datalore:

```BASH
docker compose up
```
