# Work with interactive reports

This topic explains how to work with interactive reports. This type of report allows users to view the notebook output as a completed HTML page, interact with it, and edit the published notebook's copy collaboratively. Compared to [static reports](static-reports.html), interactive reports allow viewers to dynamically change data presentations (tables and charts) using [interactive controls](interactive-control-cells.html) .

## Before you open an interactive report

Refer to these topics to learn how to build, publish, and share a static report.

* [Build a report](build-a-report.html): describes the process of preparing the notebook as a report before publishing it.

* [Publish a report](publish-a-report.html): describes the process of publishing the notebook as a report.

* [Share reports](share-reports.html)

How you can open a report varies based on your access to the report. View the details in [this topic](work-with-published-reports.html#opening-reports).

> **Note: Interactive report restrictions for Cloud Free plan users**
> If you are a Cloud Free plan user, the option is displayed with the Cloud tag. Below are the specifics of the interactive report feature availability for Cloud Free plan users.
>
>
>
> * As a Cloud Free plan user, you can only have two parallel computations. This means that if you have a running computation for a notebook that you published as an interactive report, only one viewer can run it at the same time. Once this limit is exceeded, a viewer who tries to run the report gets the notification. As the owner, you can stop other running computations (`Account settings > Running computations`) or [upgrade to Cloud](upgrade-to-cloud-plan.html).
>
> * As a Cloud Free plan user, you can only publish one interactive report (trial report) at a time. To publish another report, it is required to delete the current one.

Procedure: Copy report content

You can copy interactive report content to clipboard. This can be performed on the following types of output:

* Code cell text

* Markdown plain text and Markdown with expressions

* HTML

* Tables

* Code cell plots > **Note:** > The copy feature may be restricted due to the specifics of a charting library.

To copy the output of a specific cell, hover over that cell and click the clipboard icon that appears to the left of the cell.

> **Note: Copying tables**
> Once you recalculate the report, copying tables is supported as one of the interactive table features available in the respective cell.

Procedure: Download attached files

If the report creator has added [Download file](interactive-control-cells.html#file-downloader) cells to the report, you can download the attached files.

To download a file to your local machine, click the download button.

Procedure: Interact with the report

Interactive reports allow viewers to manipulate data presentations (tables and charts) using the provided controls and table interactivity.

1. Open the report and click the Recalculate button in the upper right corner to ensure report interactivity. In the image below, there is an interactive report containing a table and a chart.

2. Use one of the provided controls to change the respective data presentation. If the Reactive mode is on, the report will update automatically. If Reactive mode is off, click Recalculate in the upper right corner.

In the example below, the controls are:

* A slider used to select a number of rows displayed in the table (changed from 5 to 8)

* A dropdown used to select a column for the Y axis (changed from kernel_python 3.4 to kernel_python 3.6)

3. Manipulate with table content just as you would [in the editor](interactive-table-output.html)

4. To recalculate the whole report, click Recalculate in the upper right corner.

Procedure: Share a report with currently selected parameters

If an interactive report has controls, such as text inputs, dropdowns, date pickers, or sliders, you can share the report with the values that are currently selected.

1. Open the report you want to share.

2. Set the parameters to desired values.

3. Click ![Dots](https://resources.jetbrains.com.cn/help/img/datalore/2026.3/dots.svg)(More) at the top right and select Copy link with current parameters.

![Menu with the 'Copy link with current parameters' option](https://resources.jetbrains.com.cn/help/img/datalore/2026.3/link-with-params.png)

Procedure: Reset an interactive report

You can reset an interactive report to its initial state.

1. Open the report you want to reset.

2. Click ![Dots](https://resources.jetbrains.com.cn/help/img/datalore/2026.3/dots.svg)(More) at the top right and select Reset report.

The report will be displayed as if you opened it for the first time.

Procedure: Manage static report publishing

As a report owner, you can change the publishing settings of a report. Click the sharing icon in the upper right corner of the report. This will open the Update report dialog. Follow [this procedure](update-a-report.html) to make the required changes.

> **Note:**
> More information
>
>
>
> * Each viewer works in a unique copy of the interactive report to recalculate the report without interfering with other people's work or affecting the original notebook.
>
> * All computations are stopped after approximately 15 minutes of inactivity or once the viewer closes the browser tab. This is done to avoid the overconsumption of the report owner's resources.
