# Configure the list of available databases

When configuring your Datalore On-Premises instance, you can customize the list of database connectors available to users. This allows you to enforce your organization’s environment-specific requirements or security policies to align with your environment requirements or security policies.

By modifying the list, you control what connectors are visible in the UI and what database connections users are allowed to [configure using connection strings](connect-to-a-database-using-url.html).

> **Warning:**
> If a database ID is added to both lists, the database is excluded from the list of available database connections.

Procedure: Allow databases

To allow only specific database types to be available when [creating a connection](database-integration.html), list the corresponding database IDs in the configuration file.

Docker deployment:

In `docker-compose.yaml`, add the IDs from the [supported database list](#supported-databases) as a comma-separated list to `environment.DATABASES_FILTER_INCLUDE` as in the following example:

```YAML
environment:
  ...
  DATABASES_FILTER_INCLUDE: "postgresql, clickhouse, mariadb"
```

Kubernetes deployment:

In `datalore.values.yaml`, add the IDs from the [supported database list](#supported-databases) as a comma-separated list to `dataloreEnv.DATABASES_FILTER_INCLUDE` as in the following example:

```YAML
dataloreEnv:
  ...
  DATABASES_FILTER_INCLUDE: "postgresql, clickhouse, mariadb"
```

If the list is empty, all default database types will be available.

> **Note:**
> The configuration format changed from `databases.filter.include` to `DATABASES_FILTER_INCLUDE` in Datalore 2026.1. Configurations created for earlier versions require updates.

Procedure: Hide databases

To hide specific database types when [creating a connection](database-integration.html), list the corresponding database IDs in the configuration file.

Docker deployment:

In `docker-compose.yaml`, add the IDs from the [supported database list](#supported-databases) as a comma-separated list to `environment.DATABASES_FILTER_EXCLUDE` as in the following example:

```YAML
environment:
  ...
  DATABASES_FILTER_EXCLUDE: "elasticsearch, oracle"
```

Kubernetes deployment:

In `datalore.values.yaml`, add the IDs from the [supported database list](#supported-databases) as a comma-separated list to `dataloreEnv.DATABASES_FILTER_EXCLUDE` as in the following example:

```YAML
dataloreEnv:
  ...
  DATABASES_FILTER_EXCLUDE: "elasticsearch, oracle"
```

> **Note:**
> The configuration format changed from `databases.filter.exclude` to `DATABASES_FILTER_EXCLUDE` in Datalore 2026.1. Configurations created for earlier versions require updates.

If the list is empty, all default database types will be available.
